This policy explains how Connect to the World (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you visit our website or register for one of our programs. It applies to connecttotheworld.org and the registration and participant tools linked from it.
Information we collect
- Registration details you provide when you sign up for a program — such as your name, email address, phone number, country, and the cohort or event you are applying to.
- Account information if you sign in to the participant dashboard using Google or an email and password.
- Payment confirmation — if you register for a paid program, you email us a copy of your transfer receipt. We do not collect or store card numbers or bank credentials; payments are made directly through your own bank or transfer provider.
- Basic technical data your browser sends automatically, such as your device type and general location, used only to keep the site secure and working.
How we use it
- To review and process your program application.
- To communicate with you about your registration, schedule, and participation.
- To confirm payment and issue certificates of participation.
- To improve our programs and understand which offerings are most useful.
How your information is stored
Registration and account data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore). Access is restricted to authorized administrators of Connect to the World. We keep your information only for as long as needed to run the program and meet our record-keeping obligations.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing. We share data only with the service providers that operate our platform (for example, Google Firebase) and only where required by law.
Your choices
